While practicing, Alexis suffers a terrible accident that takes her sight and threatens to destroy her dreams. In the midst of feeling sorry for herself she falls in love with a handsome young man named Nick who (with help from her family) helps her to realize that she can still fulfill her dreams.
The film is a remake of the 1978 Oscar-nominated film Ice Castles, this 2010 film is a story about relationships and a love of ice-skating. Taylor Firth is an American figure skater Lexi, a small-town skater whose last-minute decision to perform at invitationals earns her a once-in-a-lifetime chance to train with Boston coach Aiden (Morgan Kelly), compete at nationals, and maybe even make it to the Olympics. Lexi makes the difficult decision to leave her father (Henry Czerny) and boyfriend Nick (Rob Mayes) behind to travel to Boston and pursue her dream.
