The war movie The Hurt Locker is a 2008 film. It go after a United States Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal or EOD team during the war in Iraq. The film was directed by Kathryn Bigelow whom was very successful to win the 82nd Oscars Awards. The screenplay was written by Mark Boal, a freelance writer who was embedded as a journalist in 2004 with a US bomb squad in Iraq.

It stars Jeremy Renner, Anthony Mackie, and Brian Geraghty as members of a U.S. Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit in Iraq and follows their tour together as they challenge with defusing bombs, the threat of insurgency, and the tension that ripens among them.

It was first released theatrically in Italy in 2008, when it premiered at the Venice Film Festival. After being shown at the Toronto International Film Festival in North America, it was chosen for distribution and circulation in the US by Summit Entertainment. It was released in the United States on June 26, 2009, in New York and Los Angeles.

The Hurt Locker is a motion picture essentially about war in Iraq. We follow three soldiers whose job is to defuse bombs for the Army. The audience is immediately thrown in to tension from the opening scene and this tension never leaves the screen as audience contiuous to be as such. From brooding undertones to extreme emotions, everything is acutely highlighted by the ‘documentary’ style shots and in addition the excellent and very effective sound as well. It seems very real, and the unnamed leads add to this sensation. By choosing unnamed actors for the leads, Bigelow is highlighting the unnamed heros, the everyday soldiers who do this work for a living.

Taken as a whole, this is well worth seeing for the present world. The executions are good, but more than simply good performances Bigelow has taken on yet another male genre and self-assuredly delivered a film that converses degrees about war and the human nature.

A must see movie and digest about it why the former wife of the Avatar’s director won as the best director aligned with the same category on the rescent concluded 82nd Oscar Awards Night.

Do you like watching war movies? The film Green Zone is a 2010 action thriller war film from the writer Brian Helgeland and directir Paul Greengrass. The film is "credited as having been 'inspired' by" the non-fiction 2006 book Imperial Life in the Emerald City by journalist Rajiv Chandrasekaran, which documented life in the Green Zone, Baghdad.

The film stars Matt Damon, Amy Ryan, Greg Kinnear, and Brendan Gleeson. The filming and production began in January 2008 in Spain and moved on to Morocco. The film was released in Australia and Russia on March 11, 2010, and in the USA and some other countries on March 12, 2010.

The term Green Zone is the common name for the International Zone of Iraq— a 10-square-kilometer (3.8-square-mile) area in central Baghdad, Iraq, that was the center of the Coalition Provisional Authority and remains the center of the international presence in the city. Its official name beginning under the Iraqi Interim Government is the International Zone, although Green Zone still is the most commonly used term. The contrasting Red Zone refers to parts of Baghdad immediately outside the perimeter, but is also loosely applied to all unsecured areas outside the off-site military posts. Both terms originated as military designations.

The Movie Dear John is an American romantic drama/war film starring Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried. The film was released theatrically in North America last February 5, 2010. Directed by Lasse Hallström, the film is an adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' novel of the same name. It shows the life of a soldier (Channing Tatum) after he falls in love with a young woman (Amanda Seyfried). They decide to exchange letters to each other after he is deployed to the war.

Plot

The movie opens with John Tyree, a young soldier from the Army Special Forces, lying on the ground in his army gear with gunshot wounds. Coins begin to fall over him as he recalls a childhood trip to the U.S. Coin mint. He goes on to compare himself to a coin in the United States of America's army and states that the last thing he thought about before he blacked out, was "you".

It was 2000, John is on leave when he meets Savannah Lynn Curtis, a college student on spring break. In a matter of days, Savannah and John fall in love. John meets Savannah's family as well as her neighbor Tim and Tim's autistic son, Alan, who looks up to Savannah. Savannah meets and befriends John's father, a reclusive man who is only interested in his coin collection. John tells Savannah that his father has always been obsessed with coins and has not been much of a father to John, whose mother is not in the picture. 

Savannah mentions John's father may, like Alan, have autism. This upsets John, who believes Savannah is calling his father retarded. He is so caught up in his anger that he gets into a fight with Savannah's rich neighbor, Randy, accidentally punching Tim in the process. John apologizes to Tim the next day and leaves Savannah a note, seeking her forgiveness before his leave comes to an end. Savannah gets the note, and they spend one last day together. John returns to the army and he and Savannah begin a long distance relationship through handwritten letters. 

John believes that year will be his final year of enlistment, but, following the September 11 attacks, is torn between returning home and his sense of duty. He is given eighteen hours off, which he spends with Savannah and her family as well as with his father. He asks Savannah for her opinion on whether or not he should re-enlist, and she tells him to do what he feels is right. Like the rest of the soldiers in his unit, John chooses to re-enlist.
